Vineyard Management and Its Impacts on Soil Biodiversity, Functions, and Ecosystem Services

چکیده
Healthy soils form the basis of sustainable viticulture, where soil characteristics have a direct impact on wine quantity and quality. Soil not only provides water nutrients to vines, but is also living medium containing micro- macroorganisms that perform many ecological functions provide ecosystem services. These organisms are involved in processes, from decomposing organic matter providing minerals vine roots. They control diseases, pests, weeds, addition improving structure terms its capacity retain nutrients. Related decomposition carbon content vineyard influences fertility, erosion biogeochemical cycles, with significant implications for global climate. However, common agricultural practices represent strong threats biodiversity associated services provided by soils. As consumers increasingly consider environmental aspects their purchase decisions, winegrowers adapt management strategies, raising demand pest- weed-control methods. This article presents comprehensive review impacts ecosystem, biodiversity, biodiversity-based services, future prospects viticulture.

Worm et al. (Research Articles, 3 November 2006, p. 787) reported an increasing proportion of fisheries in a "collapsed" state. We show that this may be an artifact of their definition of collapse as a fixed percentage of the maximum and that an increase in the number of managed fisheries could produce similar patterns as an increase in fisheries with catches below 10% of the maximum.
متن کاملImpacts of land-use management on ecosystem services and biodiversity: an agent-based modelling approach
The science of ecosystem service (ES) mapping has become increasingly sophisticated over the past 20 years, and examples of successfully integrating ES into management decisions at national and sub-national scales have begun to emerge. However, increasing model sophistication and accuracy-and therefore complexity-may trade-off with ease of use and applicability to real-world decision-making con...
متن کاملNatural disturbance impacts on ecosystem services and biodiversity in temperate and boreal forests
In many parts of the world forest disturbance regimes have intensified recently, and future climatic changes are expected to amplify this development further in the coming decades. These changes are increasingly challenging the main objectives of forest ecosystem management, which are to provide ecosystem services sustainably to society and maintain the biological diversity of forests. Yet a co...

max 200 words) Soil biota are essential for many soil processes and functions, yet there is an increasing pressure on soil biodiversity and soil degradation remains a pertinent issue. Therefore, the sustainable management of soils requires soil monitoring, including biological indicators able to relate land use and management to soil functioning and ecosystem services. Since the 1990’s, biologi...
متن کاملEcosystem functions and services
In our increasingly technological society, people give little thought to how dependent they are on the proper functioning of ecosystems and the crucial services for humanity that flow from them. Ecosystem services are “the conditions and processes through which natural ecosystems, and the species that make them up, sustain and fulfill human life” (Daily 1997); in other words, “the set of ecosys...
